UK Student Suspended For Selling ‘Squirts’ Of Hand Sanitizer
Amid the coronavirus outbreak in the UK, a student was suspended from school this week for selling his classmates squirts of hand sanitizer.
After purchasing a tub of Johnson’s child handwash for about $2, 13-year-old Oliver Cooper turned around and began selling .65 cent pumps to some of his classmates, after friends suggested he start a “business” on the playground at Dixon’s Unity Academy in Leeds.

Prior to catching major heat from school officials for his newfound entrepreneurial spirit, Cooper made just over $11. He told Metro, “It’s ridiculous, really. I asked the teacher if [she] wanted any and she said, ‘No, I’ve already got some, but you’re not allowed to do that.'”
Cooper’s mother, Jenny Thompkins took to Facebook to address her son’s suspension. She stated, “This is a picture of my teenage son just getting in from school. Why is he getting in from school at 10:53 a.m., you ask? Schools don’t finish until 3 p.m.”

Thompkins adds, “Very hard to discipline this behavior when his dad phones him from work to call him a f—ing legend.”
Furthermore, Cooper was ordered to a day in isolation, followed by a two-day detention.
