Police bodycam footage has been released after Justin Timberlake reached an agreement with police in Sag Harbor, New York following the *NSYNC alum’s viral DWI arrest in June 2024.
According to Billboard, Timerbake reached a legal settlement with police officers in the Hamptons, as he had previously attempted to block them from releasing the footage.
Earlier this month, the “SexyBack” singer filed for a legal injunction to maintain the confidentiality of Sag Harbor Village Police Department footage from the incident. However, on Friday (March 20), lawyers for Timberlake and the police notified a judge that they’d reached a settlement. The notice of settlement read:
“Petitioner had an opportunity to review the footage respondents intend to disseminate, as redacted, related to petitioner’s June 18, 2024 traffic stop and arrest. Petitioner agrees that the footage respondents intend to release, as redacted, does not constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy.”
Furthermore, on Friday, the Village of Sag Harbor released a statement to Billboard, it read:
“We are pleased that this matter has now been resolved and the village will be able to comply with its statutory obligation to release the material that is subject to disclosure. From the beginning of this matter, after Mr. Timberlake’s arrest, the village has attempted to comply with the mandates of the Freedom of Information Law. As would be true in any case involving records or video footage from our police department, such material is reviewed and redacted to address public and officer safety concerns as well as personal privacy considerations.”

After reports of Timberlake and police settling, headlines surfaced about a redacted version of body camera footage releasing that same day. As expected, the Village of Sag Harbor released the footage to all media outlets that requested the footage.
In an 18-minute video, released by TMZ, viewers can visibly see the beloved *NSYNC alum struggling to complete his field sobriety tests. At one point, a female associate of his kindly begs the police to let the “Bye Bye Bye” singer leave the scene without any charges.
Ultimately, Timberlake ended up cutting a deal, pleading guilty to a lesser charge of a traffic violation, thus evading any drunk driving or criminal offenses.
