OG supermodel Tyra Banks is about to turn the big 5-0 in December and she’s letting fans know how she’s able to stay fabulous.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Tyra talks about how she’s been preparing to embrace her new milestone. She told the outlet, “I look in the mirror and I don’t feel 50,” Banks, 49, explained. “I think 50 is the new 30s.”
She went on to tell PEOPLE, “When I look in the mirror, I don’t see it. I have not had age plastic surgery stuff. Not against it. I just haven’t had it yet. Maybe I’ll need a little something something — I am 50 even though I’m not [yet]. But I’m not insecure about it.”
She added, “I keep saying I’m 50 as an excuse. When people ask me I say, ‘I ain’t doing that — I’m 50,'” she said. “Or, ‘I’m just going to tell you what I think because I’m 50.’ I think 50 is the new 30s.”
Has Tyra Banks Gotten Plastic Surgery Before?
During a 2018 interview with the outlet, the former Next Top Model host admitted to going under the knife. She said at the time, “I had bones in my nose that were growing and itching. I could breathe fine, but I added cosmetic surgery. I admit it!” she said. “I feel I have a responsibility to tell the truth.”
Tyra who’s clearly not against plastic surgery also shared a message while speaking to PEOPLE five years ago: “If you like your natural self, don’t worry about it,” she said. “But if you feel insecure about something … I have a magic bag of beauty tricks to make you who you want to be. Permanent or temporary, I do not judge that.”
What Are Her Plans For Her 50th Birthday?
She shared that “My man, he wanted to throw this huge 50-year-old birthday for me and I kind of found out about it,” says Banks, who’s reportedly dating a businessman named Louis Bélanger-Martin. “I let him know, I have no desire to do that. I just want to go to Disneyland with the family.”
