Following reports of T.J. Holmes alleged affair with his fellow “GMA 3” co-host Amy Robach, ABC is now said to be launching an investigation amid claims the news anchor may have allegedly shared multiple other relationships with women at the network. Earlier this week, Page Six reported that aside from his alleged entanglement with Amy, T.J. was also said to have shared a relationship with producer Natasha Singh at “at least one other staffer,” while still married to his wife Marilee Fiebig.
Amy and T.J., who both left their partners in August, have since been taken off the air in the hopes that the scandal between them will eventually begin to die down. But ABC’s human resources department is now said to be analyzing T.J.’s past at the company to determine whether allegations of a reported relationship with multiple other staff members could have violated ABC’s policy.
“It’s one thing for him to have a relationship with another anchor,” a source told the publication. “The question is whether he violated company rules by dating less senior employees.” ABC News president Kim Godwin told “GMA” employees on Monday during an internal call that T.J. and Amy won’t be reprising their roles on the show for the time being after causing too much of an “internal and external distraction” to the network.
“After a lot of thought, I am taking Amy and T.J. off the air as we figure this out,” she is quoted saying. The affair itself wasn’t believed to have violated the company’s rules, but Kim believed that taking them off the air was the right decision to avoid any further unwanted attention by the media.
T.J.’s alleged relationship with other people at “GMA” will determine whether or not he violated the policy and whether he could be looking at serious consequences because of it. Unlike CBS and NBC, who have been plagued by affairs and sex scandals from their roster of talent in recent years — particularly during the rise of the MeToo movement — ABC managed to avoid a great portion of controversies to that magnitude.
But it appears that network executives are taking precautionary measures now in making sure they aren’t blindsided by any other allegations that could potentially be coming out about T.J., as it’s currently said he allegedly shared a romance with at least three women at his job.
Exclusive photos obtained by the Daily Mail last week showed T.J. and Amy looking cozy in a series of snaps taken in New York. It’s believed the two have been together since they both decided to leave their significant others.
