The New Wave? McDonald’s To Expand Testing Of ‘McPlant’ Burger
The new Mcdonald’s wave of plant-based food could be coming near to you as the franchise has just expanded its testing of the McPlant burger.
From Feb. 14, how romantic, the fast-food giant will start sending 600 locations in the San Francisco Bay and Dallas-Fort Worth areas the plant-based goodness for menus to test out on customers.

After planting the seed with a small-scale McPlant™ test in eight restaurants late last year, McDonald’s USA is expanding the test to select restaurants in your area to help us understand customer demand. This delicious burger features a patty made from plant-based ingredients like peas, rice and potatoes that we co-developed with Beyond Meat®. And starting Feb. 14, it will be available at approximately 600 participating locations in these two markets for a limited time, while supplies last. The McPlant is pretty much the same as their usual burger, served on a traditional sesame seed bun with tomato, lettuce, pickles, onions, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard and American cheese.
“It has the iconic taste of a McDonald’s burger, because it is one.”
The McPlant has previously been introduced in international markets, from Sweden to the Netherlands and most recently in the U.K.
