Federal prosecutors say former child actor Bobb’e J. Thompson was sentenced on 30 months in prison after pleading guilty to possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
Bobb’e J. Thompson Accused Of Speeding With Stolen Gun In Iowa
Things began back on September 22, 2025 when police in Iowa pulled over the now 30-year-old ‘That’s So Raven’ alum, known for playing “Stanley.” According to TMZ, prosecutors said an Iowa State Patrol Trooper in Cerro Gordo County busted him driving 104 mph in a 70-mph zone.
As the trooper approached Thompson’s vehicle, the actor and his passenger allegedly switched seats. The trooper also alleged there was a strong smell of marijuana coming from the car. After searching a backpack belonging to Thompson, they found multiple bags of marijuana. Police said it was purchased from a dispensary.
They also found a fully loaded .40-caliber handgun, plus a round in the chamber. Court records claimed someone reported the firearm stolen from a vehicle in Kansas city, Missouri.

Prosecutors said Thompson’s criminal history already included a conviction for prohibited firearm possession in 2022. It also included a conviction for battery causing serious bodily injury and assault in 2020.

Strand sentenced him to 30 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. Notably, federal inmates are not eligible for parole. Thompson will remain in the custody of U.S. Marshals Service until officials transfer him to a federal prison facility.
In addition to his time at Disney, Thompson also appeared in several TV shows like, ‘The Tracy Morgan Show,’ ’30 Rock,’ ‘Wild ’N Out,’ and ‘House of Payne.’ Thompson also appeared in movies like, ‘Role Models,’ ‘My Baby’s Daddy,’ and ’Shark Tale.’
