Tennessee Mom Indicted On 18 Child Rape Charges After Swapping Vape Pens For Sex With 9 Teenage Boys

A Tennessee mom has recently been indicted on 18 child rape charges she was busted swapping vape pens for sex with nine teenage boys. The woman has been identified as 38-year-old Melissa Blair, of McMinn County. In addition to her 18 aggravated statutory rape charges, Blair also faces four counts of human trafficking by patronizing prostitution, solicitation of a minor, plus 1 count of forfeiture of personal property — 23 charges total.

McMinn County Sheriff Joe Guy says all nine victims’ ages range between 14 and 17 and all are students of McMinn Central High School in Englewood. While Blair is not an official employee of the school district, she was heavily involved in the school’s booster club. She also had a student enrolled in the district who’s since been transferred out. The victims’ parents say Blair reached out to their sons via social media, scheduling meetings and offering them products like vape pens in return for sexual favors.

Sheriff Guy says authorities received an anonymous tip and launched an investigation, which found out about the alleged incidents that occurred from spring 2020 to late 2021. Sheriff Guy adds, “We suspect there may be additional juvenile victims, and we encourage them or their parents to contact us.  There may possibly be other victims who are now adults, and we also encourage them to contact us.” Blair has since bonded out with $100,000 and is due to be arraigned on February 28.
