Beloved actress and Tv host Sherri Shepherd officially closed the curtains on her hit talk show Sherri after four successful seasons. The final episode aired this past Thursday, May 21. From Niecy Nash stopping by as the final guest to surprise video tributes from heavyweights like Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry, the send-off was fit for a queen.

Sherri took to Instagram Friday morning to keep it 100 with her fans, posting a heartfelt message that really drove home how much this journey meant to her. She called the audience her “Family” and admitted that walking away from a life she got to know so well over the last four years was bittersweet.
But in true Sherri fashion, she didnt leave her fans sitting in sadness for too long. She teased that “new beginnings” are already in the works, even joking that if we thought we were sick of her before, we better get ready for what’s next.
The news of the cancellation actually broke back in February, and it sent shockwaves through the industry. Sherri stepped into a tough spot when she took over the time slot previously held by the legendary Wendy Williams Show in 2022. She didn’t just fill those shoes; she brought her own style, earned her flowers with an NAACP Image Award, and kept the ratings solid.
The studio, Debmar-Mercury, made it clear that this wasn’t about her performance, she was killing it, but rather about the “evolving daytime landscape.” Basically, the TV business is shifting, but Sherri’s star is only shining brighter.
During her final monologue, Sherri was visibly moved, thanking her “Sherriians” for letting her live out her childhood dream. She reminded us that the road wasn’t always easy and there were times she wanted to throw in the towel, but she pushed through to create a space that felt like home for an hour every day.
While the daytime show might be over, the producers are already looking for “alternative platforms” to keep the brand alive, and with her upcoming Lifetime movie Angel in the Rubble already in the tuck, Sherri Shepherd isn’t going anywhere. We’re definitely tuned in for the next chapter.
