Secret Service Reportedly Wants To Talk With George Lopez After Trump ‘Bounty’ Joke
As we previously reported, George Lopez was trolling on social media Sunday and left a comment under a post about Iran’s $80M bounty on Trump’s head. Like the comedian is usually known to do, Lopez joked about the latest viral situation involving Trump and said that he and others would take out the President for just “half” of what Iran is offering.
Fans of Lopez simply understood that his comment was just a joke, but of course, a few folks took his remarks to the next level, with some urging the Secret Service to look into it. According to TMZ, it looks like they’re going to do just that and are even looking to pay him a visit!
Law enforcement tells the news site that
the U.S. Secret Service is aware of George’s joke, and they’re reportedly working to see if his words carry any legitimacy as a threat… Apparently, part of the process in making this determination will include a face-to-face interview with Lopez. Another source tells TMZ that George can probably expect a knock on his door soon, and he’ll be finding agents on the other side.
Lopez has never been the one to shy away from a Trump joke no matter how extreme it may sound, and since he’s been doing this for years, we’re sure he’s been expecting a friendly visit from the Secret Service team.
