“We believe our mom is still out there,” Savannah Guthrie said in the video. “We need your help. Law enforcement is working tirelessly around the clock trying to bring her home — trying to find her. She was taken and we don’t know where. And we need your help.”
Her words landed hard. Not because they were dramatic, but because they were raw. This wasn’t polished television. This was fear, hope, and love colliding in real time.
She continued, widening the plea beyond state lines and city borders. “So I’m coming on just to ask you not just for your prayers, but no matter where you are — even if you’re far from Tucson. If you see anything, if you hear anything, if there’s anything at all that seems strange to you — that you report to law enforcement. We are at an hour of desperation, and we need your help.”
That phrase kept echoing. Hour of desperation. It spoke to time slipping by. It spoke to a family holding onto faith while facing uncertainty. And it reminded everyone watching that this case is active, urgent, and deeply human.
What Authorities Are Saying About Nancy Guthrie’s Disappearance
Nancy Guthrie was reported missing on Jan. 31. Days later, on Feb. 2, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office officially declared her disappearance a crime. That announcement marked a painful shift from concern to confirmed suspicion.
Chris Nanos, the county sheriff, told reporters that investigators discovered “concerning” evidence at Nancy Guthrie’s Arizona home. Based on what they found, he stated that he believed she “did not leave on her own.”
Those words matter. They confirmed what the family feared. This was not a voluntary disappearance. This was something far more serious.
As the investigation intensified, federal authorities stepped in.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation announced it is working alongside local law enforcement, bringing additional resources, manpower, and intelligence into the search.
On Thursday, the FBI offered a $50,000 reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie “and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.”
“We have deployed additional intelligence and agents from our Phoenix office,” said Heith Janke, the FBI Special Agent in Charge. He emphasized that agents, analysts, and professional staff are working day and night on the case.
