Physician Testifies That R. Kelly’s Had Herpes Since 2007 As Prosecutors Allege He Knowingly Infected People

R Kelly’s trial is getting weirder as the day goes by.

The disgraced star’s personal physician, who has worked with him for 25 years, revealed that Kelly has had genital herpes since at least 2007.

Prosecutors are arguing that Kelly has knowingly been infecting multiple people with Herpes.

The physician, Kris McGrath prescribed a medication called Valtrex to aid with the infection that was constantly bothering Kelly and becoming more severe. “It was so often that I had memorized the number to that Walgreens.”

The trial started on Wednesday, with a prosecutor saying that he “was ‘about a predator who used his fame to entice girls, boys, and young women before dominating and controlling them physically, sexually and psychologically.”

Per NBC News, the earliest documentation of McGrath prescribing herpes drugs to Kelly dates back to March 2007, however, the earliest documentation showing Kelly had a history of herpes was made in a medical record from 2011.

Prosecutors are arguing that Kelly is in violation of public health laws that require people who suffer an infectious venereal disease to notify their partners about their diagnosis.
