Prince Harry Delivers Emotional Speech, Says He Had “No Choice”

Prince Harry delivered an emotional speech addressing his decision for stepping down from royal duties during a charity dinner earlier today.

According to TMZ, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle actually wanted to continue serving with their royal titles without receiving money from the public. However, he was told that it was not possible so he and Markle had no choice but to formally step down from their royal positions.

“What I want to make clear is we’re not walking away, and we certainly aren’t walking away from you. Our hope was to continue serving the Queen, the commonwealth, and my military associations, but without public funding. Unfortunately, that was not possible.

I’ve accepted this, knowing that it doesn’t change who I am or how committed I am. But I hope that helps you understand what it had to come to, that I would step my family back from all I have ever known, to step foward into what I can hope is a peaceful life.”

Prince Harry also noted how his family has received a lot of negative press from the British media and hopes he can live a more peaceful life.
