Nicki Minaj Faces Legal Drama Over Husband’s Assault Case
Nicki Minaj is reportedly in danger of losing her $20 million Los Angeles mansion after her husband’s lingering legal drama came back to bite. According to Page Six, court documents reveal that Thomas Weidenmüller has asked a judge to step in and help him collect the $503,318 judgment he was awarded following an alleged assault by Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty.
Weidenmüller, who worked security at one of Minaj’s 2019 concerts in Germany, claims the “Anaconda” rapper and her husband haven’t paid him a dime. Now, he wants to collect by forcing the sale of Minaj’s massive Hidden Hills property.
“The dwelling is subject to a $13,258,000 mortgage lien and a $722,151 homestead exemption—together just under $14 million,” court docs state. “The property’s current fair market value is appraised at $20 million, yielding approximately $6 million in equity beyond the lien and exemption.”
Weidenmüller’s lawyers say that’s more than enough to pay what’s owed—with millions left over.
The Backstory: What Happened During Nicki Minaj’s 2019 Germany Show
This all stems from a wild moment back in 2019 during Minaj’s concert in Germany. Weidenmüller was working security when a male fan jumped onstage. That’s when Nicki allegedly went off on one of the female guards for “letting it happen,” calling her a “f–king bitch” and recording the entire exchange.
Things escalated when Weidenmüller, stepping in as head of security, tried to defuse the tension. Instead, Nicki allegedly shouted, “Who do you think you are?” before tossing her shoe at him.
The security guard says the situation turned violent when Kenneth Petty sucker-punched him in the jaw, breaking it instantly. He reportedly had to undergo eight surgeries and had five plates inserted into his face as a result.
A judge later awarded Weidenmüller over $500,000 after the couple failed to respond to the lawsuit, resulting in a default judgment.
Nicki Minaj’s Hidden Hills Mansion May Be On The Line
In the latest filing, Weidenmüller is requesting permission to have Nicki’s luxurious 11-bedroom Hidden Hills mansion sold off to pay his judgment. His legal team insists the rapper’s refusal to pay is unjustifiable given her wealth.
“Minaj is a global music superstar, estimated to have a net worth of anywhere between $150-190 million and is reportedly the highest-paid female rap star in the world,” the documents read.
“There is little doubt that she is highly capable of paying the judgment in full and, yet, she has refused to do so despite multiple written requests for payment and levies served upon several of her suspected creditors.”
The filing continues, “Weidenmüller should not have to wait any longer.”
Page Six reports that Minaj’s representatives have yet to respond to requests for comment.
Kenneth Petty’s Past Continues To Haunt The Couple
Kenneth Petty, who is a registered sex offender, has long been a controversial figure in Minaj’s life. Fans have often pointed out how his legal troubles cast a shadow over the rapper’s career milestones.
The couple married in 2019 and welcomed their son, affectionately called “Papa Bear,” in 2020. While Minaj has expressed her devotion to her husband, critics say his criminal past and repeated legal issues continue to cause problems for the star.
Still, Nicki’s supporters argue she shouldn’t be punished for her husband’s actions. On social media, many fans have voiced their frustration that her name keeps getting tied to his courtroom drama.
