New Jersey Parents Charged With Child Endangerment Over Bat Mitzvah
After holding a bat mitzvah for their daughter, Lakewood, New Jersey parents, Eliezer Silber, 37, and Miriam Silber, 34, were both charged with child endangerment.
The couple, who blatantly violated the state emergency order against such gatherings, signed on March 21, threw a party on Sunday (Mar 29), with 40 to 50 people in attendance.

Authorities charged the Silbers with one endangerment count for each of their five children. In addition, Eliezer Silber also got hit with a separate charge for violation a rule or regulation adopted by the governor.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy took to Twitter to address the incident. He said, “Can’t believe I have to say this at all, let alone for the second time. But here we are. NO CORONA PARTIES. They’re illegal, dangerous, and stupid. We will crash your party. You will pay a big fine. And we will name & shame you until EVERYONE gets this message into their heads.”

Also, Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said, “My office will prosecute any individual who defies or breaks the law, State of Emergency or otherwise. Everyone must respect and follow the law.”
