Manny Halley is back with another project, this time teaming up with BET for the network’s newest original comedy series, Lot Patrol, which officially premiered on June 30.
Filmed in a mockumentary style reminiscent of The Office and Reno 911!, the half-hour sitcom follows the unpredictable lives of underpaid security guards working a chaotic Hollywood studio lot. Between keeping actors in check and navigating their own personal drama, the series shines a comedic spotlight on the people behind the scenes who keep the entertainment industry running.
The ensemble cast includes DeRay Davis, Carl Anthony Payne II, Tamera Kissen, and Darius McCrary.
Red Carpet Delivers Laughs Before the Show Even Starts
The cast celebrated the premiere with a lively red carpet event that featured plenty of jokes and behind-the-scenes stories.
When asked which celebrity they would never want showing up on their studio lot, several cast members avoided naming names, while DeRay Davis leaned into the comedy.
“I don’t know, right now he’s causing problems… uh, for everyone,” Davis joked, drawing laughs from the crowd while leaving everyone to guess who he was referring to.
The red carpet also featured candid stories about some of the wildest security situations the cast has witnessed throughout their careers.
One cast member had the audience laughing after recalling an unforgettable moment involving a security guard.
“I actually saw the security guard having sex in the booth… I couldn’t be no snitch because I wanted to too!” they joked.

Brothers Christopher Massey and Kyle Massey also attended the premiere, bringing their signature humor to the red carpet as they showed support for the series.
Creator Manny Halley said the goal of Lot Patrol is to highlight the everyday workers behind Hollywood productions while delivering plenty of laughs along the way.
With a cast full of underpaid dreamers, washed-up celebrities, ambitious hustlers, and larger-than-life personalities, Lot Patrol is positioning itself as one of BET’s newest comedy offerings for the summer.
The series premiered on June 30 and is now available on BET.
