Fresh off the release of her brand new album, “Cowboy Carter,” Beyonce has decided to bless fans even more! While thanking her loyal fan base for their continued support, the Queen surprised the Beyhive with a deluxe version… already!
In addition to three new tracks, the deluxe package includes a remix to her latest hit, “Jolene.” Now, as many are aware, the song is already a remake of Dolly Parton’s 1973 classic. While the new version created by Beyonce features the iconic country singer, it now features rap star Chrisean Rock! Yes, you read that right!
We exclusively got to listen to the remixed track and Rock definitely delivered great bars while staying true to her sound. Adding to Beyoncé’s twist where she warns off Miss Jolene, Rock took her lyrics to a whole other level by rapping about punching Jolene in the face if she messes with her man. She also raps about using Jolene as a toothpick if she “tries to get slick.”
Speaking on the new collab in a press release, the Baddies star said it’s an honor to be tapped on by the megastar. A rep for Chrisean Rock also added, “Beyonce is a true icon and after recording this remix, Rock and Bey have decided to drop another song later this year called “April Fools.”
More On Beyoncé’s New Album:
In all seriousness, Beyonce’s new album “Cowboy Carter” arrived Friday, with Parton herself appearing on an interlude preceding the cover of “Jolene.” So far the new project has been getting tons of praise online.
Before its release, Beyonce shared how important her latest work meant to her and also talked about making history once again.
“I feel honored to be the first Black woman with the number one single on the Hot Country Songs chart,” she said while speaking of her tracks, TEXAS HOLD ‘EM and 16 CARRIAGES. “That would not have happened without the outpouring of support from each and every one of you. My hope is that years from now, the mention of an artist’s race, as it relates to releasing genres of music, will be irrelevant.”
In a press release Beyonce also said she considers “Carter” her finest work. “I think people are going to be surprised because I don’t think this music is what everyone expects,” she says, “but it’s the best music I’ve ever made.”
