Lil Durk may not be a fan of Tekashi 6ix9ine but he doesn’t want to see him become another dead rapper.
While chopping it up with DJ Akademiks on his podcast, Durk was asked about his famous rap line from “Laugh Now Cry Later” ft Drake: “Can you not play that lil’ boy in the club? ‘Cause we do not listen to rats.” Akademiks asked him where does he stand with the “Trollz” artist since he hasn’t mentioned him since then.
Durk explained “I don’t want nobody dead. Why do I want you dead? Give me a good reason why I want 6ix9ine dead?”
What’s Their Beef?
As many are aware, 6ix9ine snitched on his crew and made a deal with the prosecution in 2019, resulting in a two-year prison sentence. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the rapper was released early from prison where he was serving time on RICO Charges and was allowed to finish out his term in home confinement. Of course, his deal is what ultimately led to the amount of hate from the rap community for breaking the streets’ code, while boasting about it too.
In November of 2020, OTF rapper King Von was shot and killed in a street altercation in Atlanta, Georgia. When DJ Akademiks posted the breaking news to his Instagram page, 6ix9ine commented with laughing emoji. To make matters worse, when Durk took to his Instagram to share a photo of King Von with the caption, “My twin gone I love you baby bro – D Roy !!!!!” 6ix9ine said the rapper should kill himself, writing, “Nuski now von AND you still rapping go pick up a gun,” followed by a bunch of laughing emojis.
Following a bunch of back-and-forth disses online, Durk eventually decided to ignore him.
However, that didn’t stop other people from coming at 6ix9ine.
As we previously reported, Tekashi 6ix9ine was brutally attacked in a South Florida gym, resulting in the arrest of three men. The wild fight took place inside the bathroom of an LA Fitness in Lake Worth on Tuesday, Mar. 21, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Viral cellphone video even captured the attack which showed the 26-year-old rapper on the bathroom floor while three men repeatedly kicked him.
The man behind the fight was identified as Rafael Medina Jr., 43. He was arrested on assault and robbery charges in connection with the attack. His son, Octavious Medina, 23, and a third man named Anthony Maldonado, 25, were also taken into police custody, according to reports.
Despite the embarrassing moment, Tekashi says violence is not ok… “When I look at it, I just see hate,” he said. “Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but does that give me the right to attack you? To ambush you,” he previously told NBC Miami.
