Oop! Former ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta‘ star Kim Zolciak is getting tired of trolls joking about her “significant debt” amid her Kroy Biermann divorce, so she’s joking right back. While on a recent Instagram Live, Zolciak clapped back at comments and said her daughter Brielle Biermann was “paying the electric bill” at her home.
The Zolciak-Biermann family has been having quite the year. In February, the family’s Georgia mansion was headed to public auction after being listed in foreclosure. Then three months later, the couple was accused of owing the IRS $1.1 million in back taxes, and reportedly got hit with a lien. The same day that their IRS debt went public, news broke of Zolciak filing for divorce from her former NFL player husband of 11 years.
Amid tons of mudslinging between the couple, Zolciak, 45, would begin selling her signature wigs for over $2,500 amid her alleged financial problems. At one point during the couple’s divorce, Biermann, 37, had exposed his wife of allegedly throwing away millions of dollars while gambling.
Biermann claimed that his wife’s alleged habit had gotten so bad, he feared for the family’s financial stability, and ultimately their four young children’s wellbeing. One of Zolciak’s daughters from a prior relationship, Brielle, even had a tweet resurface, where she exposed her mother’s alleged “gambling problem.”
After a couple months of duking it out online and in court, the couple decided to call off their divorce and give their marriage and happy family another try. But the couple couldn’t run from their ongoing financial woes. Aside from selling her wigs previously, Zolciak hopped on Instagram and began selling her and her daughter’s designer bags, shoes and more.
Amid all the gambling debt accusations and IRS woes, Zolciak went through her and Brielle’s closets and began offloading items, with some pieces going for upwards of $20,000. About a month later, Zolciak and Biermann’s divorce would be back on after the later filed again, seeking sole custody, child support and alimony.
And while Zolciak reportedly remained optimistic, with hopes of rekindling her romance again, it was reported that Biermann was “moving forward” with his second divorce filing anyway. In addition to remaining optimistic about her marriage, Zolciak has done the same with her financial situation.
As she remains nonchalant, her estranged husband had to plead with a judge to allow them to sell their $3 million home in order to chip away at their “significant debt.” Biermann also alleged that the money made from selling Zolciak and her daughter’s luxury goods have not gone to paying off their “mortgage or any other bills.”
Since all of the divorce drama and “significant debt” racked up, Zolciak recently went on Instagram Live and joked that her eldest daughter, Brielle, chipped in with the bills after fans questioned her about her money problems. Reading fans’ comments, Zolciak said, “You guys, please, yeah. Don’t even — I’m not even acknowledging the bullsh*t, so. Actually, Brielle paid the electric bill, thank you.”
