Kanye made his return to Twitter this Friday to announce the big move. He tweeted, “#WESTDAYEVER” along with a picture, giving us a first look at the collaboration. He followed up with another tweet saying, “#YEEZY AND GAP FORM PARTNERSHIP #WESTDAYEVER,” over a picture of the official logo.

As The New York Times notes, the partnership is believed to be a 10-year deal. Gap believes that half way through their 10-year-deal, YEEZY will bring in $1 billion USD in annual sales. It was said that the deal will see YEEZY receive royalties and potential equity based on the collaborations sales performance.

Kanye has talked about wanting to partner with Gap in various interviews over the years. WSJ reports that he actually worked in a Gap store while growing up in Chicago and even rapped about the retailer in his 2004 song “Spaceship.”

“I believe that Yeezy is the McDonald’s and the Apple of apparel,” Mr. West told The Wall Street Journal back in March. “In order to make the Apple of apparel the next Gap, it has to be a new invention. To invent something that’s so good that you don’t even get credit for it because it’s the norm.”

Social media users have been congratulating the fashion and rap star all over Twitter this Friday morning.
