Rapper Huey, Best Known For His Hit Song “Pop, Lock & Drop It,” Killed In St. Louis Shooting

According to Fox News affiliate KTVI, popular St. Louis rapper Baby Huey has sadly died.

Authorities shared that he was shot and killed Thursday night. The shooting happened just before midnight in front of a home in the 8100 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard near Mable Avenue in Kinloch. Further details weren’t shared as investigators continue to comb through the area.

As many know, Baby Huey who’s real name is Lawrence Franks Jr. who was signed to Jive Records, was best known for his 2006 debut song “pop, lock and drop it”. According to Huey’s Instagram, the rapper was gearing up to film a music video Saturday for his new single.

Following the news that broke overnight, the hip-hop community has been mourning the loss of the beloved star while paying tribute to him.

Huey leaves behind a 13-year-old daughter.
