Florida To Close Bars After Shattering Record Of New COVID-19 Cases
Welp, if you’re in Florida or traveling to Florida, you may not like this news. According to The Hill, the state is shutting down bars in an effort to slow the spread of coronavirus, after the state reported a single-day record of new infections.

The secretary of the agency that regulates Florida bars, Halsey Beshears announced that on-premise alcohol consumption will stop immediately.
According to the news site citing the Department of Health, Florida shattered its single-day record of new coronavirus cases reported on Friday, adding an additional 8,942 cases. Florida now has a total of 122,960 coronavirus cases across the state. The state set a record of 71,433 tests conducted, and the positivity rate was 13.05 percent.
The Hill now also reports that Texas has decided to shut down bars to help stop the spread of COVID-19. The move comes a day after TX announced that it would officially pause their plan to reopen.
