According to TMZ, her former fiancé, David Otunga, is looking to sell the Neil Lane designed ring. It’s reportedly worth $45K and will be auctioned through the site, IDoNowIDon’t.com. Although he’s possibly looking to get some money from it, TMZ also notes that Otunga plans to donate a portion of the proceeds to a fathers’ rights organization, the Moses Otunga Foundation, which offers aid to children in Kenya.

Otunga, who appeared on the VH1 reality show “I Love New York” under the nickname “Punk” and is also a pro wrestler, began dating the “American Idol” star in 2007. The couple were engaged for 10 years before calling it quits in 2017. Hudson returned the ring after they decided to end their relationship.

Although they ended things, in november 2017, the 40-year-old actress filed for a restraining order against Otunga, with whom she shares 12-year-old son David Jr. She claimed at the time he had exhibited “aggressive, threatening and harassing behavior” toward her, something that he denied. However, in 2019, the two reached a custody agreement after trial.
