Rapper G Herbo won’t have to sit behind bars after he pleaded guilty to wire fraud charges. As we previously reported, the Chicago rapper got tied into some legal issues after it was reported that he used stolen credit card info to pay for private jet excursions, vacations, car rentals, and even “designer puppies.”
According to Rolling Stone, Herbo was hit with three years probation on Thursday and will also have to cough up $139,968 in restitution for purchases he made in the alleged scheme. The rapper was also hit with a $5,500 fine.
Overall it seems Herbo walked out with a win because per the Associated Press, prosecutors were looking to have him serve yeast one year in prison, plus 36 months of supervised release and a $55,000 fine.
Herbo and several other people in his camp were charged with using stolen identities to make hundreds of thousands of dollars in fraudulent charges for goods and services. In his plea agreement, the Chicago rapper admitted that he “used the proceeds from these frauds to travel to various concert venues and to advance his career by posting photographs and/or videos of himself on the private jets, in the exotic cars and at the Jamaican villa.”

According to the Chicago Tribune, the prosecution has uncovered up to $1.5 million in stolen goods and services so far, and it is alleged that Herbo and his crew have been involved in this scheme for the past four years, accumulating around $2 million in expenses. If convicted, Herbo could face up to six years in prison. A wire fraud count can result in 20 years in prison, but under the federal sentencing guidelines, the term would be much lower, per the outlet.
According to the report after Herbo learned his fate in court his lawyer refused to back to Rolling Stone’s request.
