Florida Teacher Fired After Telling Students Antifa Was To Blame For Capitol Riots

A Florida teacher has been fired after telling students that Antifa was to blame for the U.S. Capitol riots on January 6. For those unknowing, Antifa is described as a left-wing anti-fascist and anti-racist political movement in the United States.

The teacher, who was a substitute and is unnamed, went viral after a student at Bok Academy in Lake Wales, FL uploaded a recording of them going off during a middle school language arts class. During her rant, she falsely claimed that three Antifa members were paid to storm the Capitol in the failed coup, and were solely responsible for the fatal attack. Opposing these claims are the FBI who say there’s been zero indication of Antifa playing a role in the incident.

It’s been noted that the teacher was referencing a Washington Times headline — “Facial Recognition Claims Antifa Infiltrated Trump Protesters Who Stormed Capitol” — which has since been retracted for misinformation. When a student said the rioters were visibly identifiable as Donald Trump supporters, the sub fired back, “When they’re paid to be there and cause a riot they wanna make it look like Trump supporters so they wear Trump hats and carry Trump flags.” While some students uncomfortable asked to leave the room, another shot back “I don’t care about your opinions.”
