Man Who Threatened To Kill Nancy Pelosi To Remain In Custody As Case Pends
Cleveland Meredith Jr., the man who threatened to kill House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, is to remain in custody as his case pends. While he arrived to the Capitol riots late, Meredith is said to have brought multiple guns and what he alleged described as a “sh*t ton” of ammunition to Washington, D.C. last week.
Currently, Meredith is facing one felony charge of making interstate threats and two misdemeanor gun possession charges. On Wednesday (Jan. 13), prosecutors discovered he’d also threatened to kill D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser.
On Thursday (Jan. 14), subsequent to his actions and threats, US Magistrate Judge G. Michael Harvey ruled that Meredith deserved zero combinations of release conditions and was to remain in custody as his case sits pending. Speaking on Meredith’s texts, the Judge said, “They are numerous. They are graphic. They are at a level of intensity that is of a concern to the court.”
