Florida Man Brings AR-15 To Disney World Vacation, Claims He Was Afraid Of BLM Protests

An unidentified Florida man is reported to have taken an AR-15 assault rifle and hand gun to his Disney world vacation because he was “worried” about nearby Black Lives Matter protests.

According to an Orlando Sentinel report, the 43-year-old Palm Beach Gardens resident checked into the Polynesian Village Resort with his guns in a tennis bag on Saturday during Labor Day weekend. The bellman made the discovery after noticing that the bags were heavy. He reported it to his manager who contacted the local sheriff’s office.

The Sheriff’s Office said the man told them “he brought the rifle with him for their safety because of the riots and civil unrest going on down south and in the Central Florida area.”

Thee man also brought three rifle magazines m 90 rounds and two 9mm magazines with 20 rounds with him. Once the sherif me checked his weapons permit they let him go.

“We then gave [the man] back his firearms and told him we appreciated his cooperation. No arrests were made because no laws were broken.”

Disney stored his weapons until his stay was over.

“Our policy is clear that guns or weapons of any kind are not allowed at our resort regardless of whether someone has a permit,” Disney rep Andrea Finger said.
