If you were looking for a good summer kick-odd and didn’t attend the Dear Summer Festival last weekend then you completely missed out!

DSF made its highly anticipated return to New York City, taking over Citi Field and pulling out a massive, beautifully Black crowd that proved exactly why this event continues to be a must-attend event.

The lineup alone had the city talking for weeks, and it delivered on every single front. The Bronx’s very own Highbridge hero, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, took the stage to an absolute roar from the hometown crowd, running through a catalog of anthems that had everybody singing word-for-word. But the energy hit a whole different level when dancehall icon Mavado stepped up. The general brought those authentic, undeniable Caribbean vibes straight to Queens.

Beyond the star-studded stage and the non-stop dancing, what makes Dear Summer different is the intentionality behind the party. The organizers have consistently used their platform to uplift  Black entrepreneurship. Between the delicious food vendors, dope brand activations: from BET, Dusse, Titos and more, along with the sea of beautiful people dressed to the nines in their best summer fits, the festival is clearly all about bringing everyone together.

What started out years ago as a simple backyard cookout between a group of HBCU friends has officially evolved into a full-blown multi-city movement; blending thatt warmth of a family reunion with the heavy-hitting star power of a stadium concert. With this year being such a hit, with great headliner, folks can’t wait to attend next year.
