President Donald Trump Reacts After Five Soldiers Shot At Fort Stewart Military Base

At least five soldiers were reportedly injured in a terrifying shooting at Fort Stewart in Georgia on Wednesday. The suspect has been identified as a 28-year-old U.S. Army sergeant named Quornelius Radford from Jacksonville, Florida.

According to officials, Radford—who was an active-duty automated logistics specialist—used a personal handgun during the attack. Things could’ve been even worse if it wasn’t for the quick action from other soldiers who managed to tackle him and hold him down before authorities arrived.

In an official statement, Brig. Gen. John Lubas of the 3rd Infantry Division and Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield praised the soldiers for preventing further bloodshed. “These soldiers, without a doubt, prevented further casualties,” he said.

“Right now, our primary focus is on supporting the family members of the five victims and the Soldiers of the Spartan Brigade.”

In the wake of the incident, Donald Trump wasted no time speaking out, showing love to the wounded and making it clear justice is coming.

“The Army Criminal Investigation Division is on site to ensure that the perpetrator of this atrocity, which is exactly what it is, will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” Trump said at a press conference Wednesday.
“The entire nation is praying for the victims and their families, and hopefully they’ll fully recover. We can put this chapter behind, but we’re not going to forget what happened.”

Army Sergeant Quornelius Radford Identified As Suspect In Fort Stewart Shooting

Radford, originally from Jacksonville, Florida, is no stranger to the base. As an active-duty logistics sergeant, he served at Fort Stewart and had been stationed there for some time. Officials say the weapon he used was his personal handgun—not military-issued.

The motive behind the shooting hasn’t been made public yet, but many are now wondering how someone so embedded in the military structure ended up turning a weapon on his fellow service members.

This situation raises some serious questions about mental health resources, firearm access, and oversight on military bases. The Army has opened a full internal investigation.
