Former Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene continues to slam President Donald Trump as she alleges he told her to stop pushing for the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files as it “would hurt his friends.” MTG, a former MAGA militant also alleged that Trump once texted her and said if her youngest son was killed amid death threats, “she deserved it because she was a traitor to him.”

At the start of 2026, MTG resigned from her role as Georgia Representative for the GOP. Amid her departure from Congress, MTG — who seemingly compared Trump to “Jesus” back in June 2024 — began changing her perspective. The change of heart came as Trump and his cabinet tried to fight against the release of the Epstein files.
By November 2025, Trump — who once dubbed MTG as a “Republican Star” — officially pulled his support from the “traitor.” After Trump’s public announcement, MTG alleged she and her family began receiving death threats. Greene previously told Piers Morgan about her youngest son being targeted.
Marjorie Taylor Greene Recalls Alleged Death Threats Against Son And Donald Trump Allegedly Blaming His ‘Traitor’ Mother If Anything Happens
On Saturday (May 2), MTG again shared the claims during a speech at The Ron Paul Institute in Clute, Texas. MTG recalled the alleged death threats sent to her.
Quoting her alleged attackers, she said, “‘You’re a traitor. You deserve to die. You’re a traitor, we’re going to kill you.’”She continued, “But it was the one that came in, and they kept coming, [to] my son, my youngest, my baby boy: ‘We’re going to snuff out his life. We’re going to put a bullet in his head.’”
MTG said she shared her concerns with Trump’s cabinet. This included Vice President JD Vance, FBI Director Kash Patel, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, and White House Deputy Chief of Staff James Blair. Finally, she said she had heard from the president, whose texts she saved.
MTG joked, “I’d probably get put in jail if I released them publicly.” She continued:
“Trump proceeded to tell me that it was my fault and that I deserve it. If my son gets killed, I deserve it because I was a traitor to him…That is our president of the United States. That’s the man that says MAGA is whatever he wants it to be. That’s the man that — think about it — so many Americans turn to because they were failed by the Democrat [sic] Party and failed by the Republican Party. That’s the man that we elected to change everything. Well, he certainly changed everything for me.”
Marjorie Taylor Greene Alleges Donald Trump Wanted Her To Stop Pushing For Epstein Files Because ‘It Would Hurt His Friends’
During her speech at The Ron Paul Institute in Clute, Texas on May 2, MTG also alleged that Trump once told her she needed to stop pushing to release the Epstein files because his “friends would get hurt.” She claimed Trump called her in her congressional office after she signed a petition to release the Epstein files.
“I’ll never forget it. He said, ‘Marjorie, you’re going to have to take your name off that discharge petition… This is a hoax. It’s a Democrat hoax and we’ve got to just put this away and stop doing this.’ And he said, ‘My friends are going to get hurt. He said his friends would get hurt if we released the Epstein files.’ He said ‘Marjorie, these are good people. These are people you know at Mar-a-Lago. People in Palm Beach. They’re going to get hurt by this.’ I said, ‘Mr. President, people have been hurt. These women have been hurt. Have you talked to them? You should talk to them. You should have them in the Oval Office, Mr. President. You have everybody in the Oval Office…. Surely you can have these women who were raped as teenagers. Talk to them. I talk to them all the time. As a matter of fact, many of them voted for you.’ That’s what I told him. ‘They voted for you. Epstein victims voted for Donald Trump.’ And he wouldn’t have anything to do with them. He told me his friends would get hurt. And I said, ‘I’m not taking my name off the discharge petition.’ Because this crosses the party lines. It crosses all the lines.”
