Delta Upgrades Black Passenger’s Flight After Being Harassed By White Woman
Delta Air Lines upgraded a Black passenger’s flight after she was harassed by a white woman spewing racist and discriminatory comments on a previous flight. Taking to her Facebook, Demetria Poe, 25, applauds the airline company for “taking a stance” against bigotry after a white woman harassed her during her flight from Minneapolis to Washington, D.C.
Poe shares that the altercation first began once the woman purposefully swapped her American flag face mask for a Blue Lives Matter mask, and pin to match, after realizing they were seated next to each other. She says, subsequently, “that woman was trying to entice me into an argument because there was no need for her to flip that mask in my presence. She didn’t do it for anyone else. It was as if she was making a statement and wanted me to know.”
In Poe’s FB post, she adds that the white men and women around them, came to her defense before flight attendant came over and offered to move the irate woman. Upon landing, attendants told her the woman would not be flying Delta anymore as they don’t stand for racism and discrimination. In addition to defending her, the airline company also gave her a special delivery before boarding, which included an upgraded seat and a gift bag with a personal letter, Black Lives Matter pin, and other goodies.
