CultureCon brought heavy-hitting star power, transparent conversations, and community building to Brooklyn’s Duggal Greenhouse for two packed days on October 3–4.

Hollywood heavyweights and cultural leaders—including Michael B. Jordan, John Legend, Mahershala Ali, and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani—took center stage to connect with thousands of creators. Mayor Mamdani made history over the weekend as the first sitting mayor to join a CultureCon stage conversation, alongside a powerhouse lineup featuring Colin Kaepernick, Daniel Kaluuya, Niecy Nash-Betts, Aaron Pierre, and Olandria Carthen.

Michael B. Jordan offered advice to aspiring creators and artists, emphasizing the importance of believing in their vision, even when others do not. He stated, “I want you to have faith in what you’re doing, even if no one else can see it. As long as you can see it, others will follow.” At another panel, Mayor Mamdani explained that work is happening behind the scenes to help artists and creators earn income, and he introduced a grant for artists of up to $10,000.

Olandria Carthen discussed how she leverages authenticity to connect with her audience beyond her television persona, particularly as her personal brand continues to grow. She stated, “I try to ensure that how I’m perceived publicly is not how I see myself.”

Beyond the Stage: Real Community & Career Growth

Beyond basic inspiration, the weekend focused on tangible career growth. Attendees dove into one-on-one Brain Dates, interactive workshops, mentorship sessions, brand activations, and the “Museum of Us” Art Exhibition showcasing over 20 independent artists.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary since starting as a humble 10-person dinner in a Harlem apartment, CultureCon continues to solidify its place as an essential ecosystem for creatives shaping the future of culture.
