#Socialites, come get into this: Courtney Clenney, the OnlyFans influencer known online as “Courtney Tailor,” has officially agreed to a plea deal in the April 2022 fatal stabbing of her 27-year-old Black boyfriend, Christian Obumseli.
Instead of facing a jury on second-degree murder charges that could have locked her tale in the slammer for life, the 30-year-old social media personality agreed to plead guilty to manslaughter. Reports indicate that due to time already served since her August 2022 arrest, Clenney could be stepping foot back into the real world in less than two years.

As previously reported, elevator footage from their luxury Miami high-rise showed a volatile relationship, capturing moments where Clenney physically attacked Obumseli repeatedly months before the night she plunged a kitchen knife into his chest. Clenney and her legal team maintained that she acted in self-defense, claiming she threw the knife from 10 feet away during a heated dispute. However, prosecutors and Obumseli’s family painted a drastically different picture, arguing that her actions were calculated and fueled by a history of abusive behavior.
The Obumseli family, who had fought tirelessly for justice and even filed a separate wrongful death lawsuit against Clenney, ultimately co-signed the resolution to avoid a drawn-out, traumatic trial.
In an official statement released through their legal representation ahead of the sentencing hearing, the family expressed a desire for peace after years of public speculation and pain. “On behalf of the Obumseli family, I am pleased to announce that Defendant Courtney Clenney, the State, and the Obumseli family have reached a resolution that would avoid an unnecessary trial,” the statement read. “Pleading guilty and accepting full responsibility will begin the process of bringing closure to a very tragic, life-changing event for the Obumseli family.”
Despite the family’s push for closure, the internet’s reaction has been nothing short of explosive. Outraged commentators quickly voiced their frustration with what many see as a light slap on the wrist for a white influencer taking a young Black man’s life.
With Clenney having spent the last four years sitting in a Miami-Dade jail cell without bond, the math on her remaining sentence means she could be out, rebranded, and back on screens before most people even digest the verdict.
