While opening up to PEOPLE about her new relationship with actor Matthew Lawrence, TLC singer Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas revealed that she and her new boo have not had one argument since they began dating last year!
Chilli Reveals She And Matthew Lawrence Haven’t Had One Argument Since They Began Dating In 2022
The 52-year-old singer spoke with the publication about her life and newfound love in their latest issue, which dropped ahead of Lifetime’s new documentary ‘TLC Forever,‘ premiering on June 3 at 8 pm. ET.
Speaking on her new man, Chilli said that she and the 43-year-old actor continue to remain on cloud nine as they approach their one-year mark together.
Chilli, who claimed that she has never been that much of a fan of ‘Boy Meets World,’ said, “I never thought the name ‘Matthew’ would make me blush so much.” She also said that despite the fact that she never really fan-girled over Matthew in ‘Boy Meets World,’ she did see him in other projects and “always thought he was cute.”
As for how the couple first met, it happened to be last year at the 2022 ’90s Con. At the time, Matthew had been fresh out of a divorce from ‘Dancing with the Stars‘ star Cheryl Burke. After meeting, they shortly began dating, and appears to have been cool runnings ever since.
Chilli revealed things are so cool in their relationship that they have never been in any type of arguments. She said, “To this day we have not had one argument. I’m like ‘Matthew, it’s gonna happen one day, cause we’re going to be together forever.”
The singer also opened up about how she and the actor are still flying high in their relationship, despite it being long-distance. Currently, Chilli is residing on the East Coast in Atlanta, Georgia while Matthew holds down the fort on the West Coast in Los Angeles, California.
Chilli said, “We know how to communicate very well with each other. And I didn’t want a relationship that I had to work so hard in.”
Chilli also talked with the publication about how she and Matthew looked back on how they found each other and the timing of them getting together.
The singer said, “Obviously we both are like, ‘Man if we had met years ago’ and all that. There’s our time and then there’s God’s time. When you go through more stuff you really appreciate that person so much more. You cherish the relationship in a different way. I’ve never experienced anything like this.”
