Celebrities And Social Media Users Call For A Change In NBA Logo To Honor Kobe Bryant

Sadly, NBA legend Kobe Bryant is no longer with us following the tragic helicopter crash that also took the life of his 13-year-daughter Gianna along with seven others.

For many people across the country, it’s been hard to accept the fact that he’s gone. However, celebrities, sports fanatics, and even fans who just respected Kobe and understood that he was bigger than basketball, all want to continue to keep his name and legacy alive.

Hundreds of thousands of fans are now calling on the NBA to update its logo to honor Kobe Bryant following the basketball great’s tragic death.

“With the untimely and unexpected passing of the great Kobe Bryant please sign this petition in an attempt to immortalize him forever as the new NBA Logo,” creator Nick M wrote on the Change.org petition. He added that he hoped ” … our dream does come true and we are able to see Kobe Bryant engraved into the NBA Logo.”

Even celebrities like Boosie, Justin Bieber, Meek Mill, Snoop Dogg and more have taken to social media to call on the NBA to make this big change. The petition had amassed over 280,000 signatures as of this Monday.

As of right now, the current NBA logo which was designed by Alan Siegel, features the silhouette of Los Angeles Lakers great Jerry West.
