Kanye West is determined to get on the ballots! Just last week, the Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) voted by a 5-1 margin to turn away the rapper’s petition after he missed the deadline to file his papers to appear on Wisconsin’s presidential ballot. He missed it by just a minute.
Despite that, he’s still trying to make it happen. According to The Hill, the rapper has reportedly decided to the Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) to get his name on the presidential ballot in the state this fall.
West’s lawsuit, filed in Brown County asking the local court to rule that his nominating papers were submitted on time. He also wants to ensure that he and his running mate, Michelle Tidwell, will appear on the ballot in November.
WEC explained their decision saying no petitions may be submitted on the due date a second after the time. However, West’s lawyers are arguing that the deadline expires actually expires at 5:01 p.m. Though WEC determined that West’s submission came in at 14 seconds after 5 p.m, The Hill reports.

Former NBA All-Star And ‘Survivor’ Contestant, Cliff Robinson Dies At 53
Former Portland Trail Blazers star Cliff Robinson has passed away. According to Bleacher Report, the news was announced by the University of Connecticut, his alma mater.
“The UConn Basketball family mourns the loss of a legendary player and person, Clifford Robinson. Our thoughts and prayers are with Cliff’s family at this difficult time 🙏Rest In Peace, Cliff,” the Saturday statement read. WGRZ reporter Claudine Ewing also tweeted that the family confirmed his passing, but bo further details were shared. As of right now, the cause of death is also not known.
Robinson accomplished a lot during his career. Not only did he help UConn win the 1988 NIT title but he also became a second-round draft pick of the Portland Trail Blazers in 1989 while playing eight years for the franchise, helping it reach the NBA finals in 1990 and 1992. Robinson was also the first NBA player to appear on the television show Survivor.
The sad news of Robinson’s passing comes as people around the world were rocked by the news of Chadwick Boseman’s death. He died on Friday following a four-year-long battle with colon cancer. The “Black Panther” star was just 43 years old.

Fans, family, and close friends are currently mourning the loss of beloved actor Chadwick Boseman, who sadly passed away on Friday. As we previously reported, the “Black Panther” star died after a four-year-long battle with colon cancer.
Following the news, many immediately took social media to express shock and grief but also gratitude for the late star. As some highlighted that personal battles are often hidden, it made others appreciate Boseman even more as they realized he delivered a handful of projects while he was struggling with his health at the same time.

Chadwick died in his home, with his wife and family by his side. ”The family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time,” the statement read.

Reality Star Masika Reportedly Kalysha Fired By TV Show ‘Double Cross’ After Kidnapping Stunt
Although Masika Kalysha is known for getting to the bag, it appears that she may have lost one. According to The Blast, the reality star has reportedly been FIRED from the hit series ‘Double Cross’ after she shared a fake kidnapping video while promoting her OnlyFans account.
Now, although Masika spoke out and said she was just bringing awareness to sex trafficking and was donating the funds to the R.O.S.E Organization, she still faced tons of backlash. The news site reports that the creator of the show, Christel Gibson, got bombarded with calls from people outside the set describing what had just occurred. Apparently, the stunt also did not sit well with executives from UMC, the streaming service who airs the series.
The Blast reports that UMC executives spoke to Masika’s representatives and requested that she publically apologize for her video, which many people found to be offensive, but she reportedly refused. To note, the television show tackles the very same topic and Masika was signed on for season two to play the character, Imani. UMC, which streams the show, tells The Blast, “In light of the offensive video posted by Masika Kalysha while on the set of our series, “Double Cross,” we’ve made the decision to part ways with her immediately and will be recasting her role. “Double Cross” was created to shed light on the horrors of sex trafficking and we strongly condemn any inclination that such a serious issue should be made light of.”

According to a Friday statement obtained by NBC affiliate WMTV, Vincent Arenas and Brittany Meronek were the other officers who were on the scene during Sunday’s shooting. The DOJ is now stating that officers “attempted to arrest” Blake and that after an initial attempt, Officer Rusten Sheskey used a taser “to stop” Blake. However, when that failed, Vincent Arenas also fired a taser, which also failed. After being pulled by the shirt, Blake then walked around his vehicle, opened the driver’s side door, and leaned forward. Officer Sheskey then unnecessarily fired 7 times into Blake’s back. The news site notes that no other officer fired their weapon. As of right now, it is still not exactly clear what Blake was being arrested for. However, it was noted that the Kenosha Police Department does not have body cameras, the DOJ said.
Sheskey has been with the Kenosha Police Department for seven years while Arenas has been with the force since February 2019, previously working for the U.S. Capitol Police. Meronek joined the department in January of this year, officials said. All three officers have been placed on administrative leave during the investigation, authorities have previously said.
As we previously, witnesses say Blake was breaking up a fight before cops arrived at the scene. The DOJ’s statement also confirmed that Kenosha police responded to the scene “after a female caller reported that her boyfriend was present and was not supposed to be on the premises.”
As a result of the incident, Blake was told that he is paralyzed from the waist down. Attorney Ben Crump said during a Tuesday press conference, “Because those bullets severed his spinal cord and shattered some of his vertebrae, it is going to take a miracle… for Jacob Blake Jr. to ever walk again.”
According to NBC Chicago, the DOJ’s statement also says Blake “admitted that he had a knife in his possession” during the investigation into the shooting, noting that agents found a knife on the driver’s side floorboard of his vehicle. No other weapons were found in a search of the vehicle, officials said. Ben Crump, who describes him as a family man whose three sons were in the car at the time of the shooting, said that still does not justify police shooting Blake several times in his back.
It was also revealed by Blake’s father that he is handcuffed to his hospital bed even though he’s now paralyzed, the Chicago-Times reports.
The Wisconsin DOJ said its Division of Criminal Investigation is leading the investigation into the shooting, assisted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office, with all law enforcement agencies cooperating.

Now, despite being called out by social media users and celebrities who felt like he was trolling again, Crews stayed silent and did not address his controversial tweet until now.
Earlier this Friday morning, the once-beloved actor explained himself to his 1.7 million followers on Twitter. He said:
“My tweet yesterday however well-intentioned, was ill-timed. I pray for the many women trapped and trafficked in the life of the sex industry and see no way out. I want them to know they are not product to be used, but People to be loved.” He added,
“I also pray for the swift recovery of Jacob Blake, and can find no justification for shooting a man 7 times in the back in front of his children. The trauma of witnessing what happened to their father is devastating, and I want justice for the him and his family.”
As we previously reported, Blake, 29, was shot multiple times by a Kenosha police officer after trying to break up a fight. Blake’s father told news outlets that his son is now paralyzed from the waist down following the tragic incident. All three cops involved have been put on administrative leave pending an investigation.
