The 49-year-old explained how the focus on beauty in the entertainment industry felt toxic to her: “I am absolutely a victim to all of the societal objectifications and exploitations that women are subjected to. I have bought into all of them myself at certain times.” Speaking further into the topic she said, “You just start to pick yourself apart, you know,” she said while looking back at the times she used to sit in front of the mirror for hours a day as an actress: “And you’re like, ‘Why I am sitting here like being so mean to myself?’ My body’s strong, my body’s capable. Why am I going to talk down to it? Why am I going to be mean to it when it’s like carried me this far?”

These days, Diaz, who is still stunning, doesn’t care about her appearance at all. She said: “I don’t care. Literally, the last thing I think about on a daily basis — like maybe not at all during the day — is what I look like.” She went on to reveal that despite owning a “billion” beauty products, she rarely so much as washes her face: “I literally do nothing. I like never wash my face…,” she explained. “Twice a month if I’m lucky, I’ll be like, ‘Oh, I better put this on. One time works, right?’ Like is that all I have to do? I’m just not in that place right now like where I put any energy.”

Diaz who is preparing to turn 50 is now shifting her energy to “stay strong.” According to the Daily Mail, Diaz has reportedly turned down nearly $100million in film offers since her exit from the acting world but doesn’t appear to have any regrets. In fact, Diaz is still a working woman and has a successful wine label, Avaline.
