Britney Spears’ father, Jamie Spears, has vehemently denied allegations that he bugged his daughter’s bedroom while she was tied to her 13-year conservatorship. The claims were first made in last year’s documentary The New York Times Presents: Controlling Britney Spears, which asserted that recording devices were installed in Britney’s LA home to monitor her conversations, among other private moments.
But in a sworn declaration filed at the Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday, Jamie, as quoted by Page Six, said, “I am informed of the allegation … that a listening device or ‘bug’ was placed [in] her bedroom as surveillance during the conservatorship. This allegation is false. I never conducted or authorized any surveillance of Britney’s bedroom at any time, including during the conservatorship. I am not aware of any such surveillance having occurred.”

Furthermore, Britney’s dad contended that if he was sworn in as a witness, he would willingly testify that his declaration is “true and correct.” If Jamie is telling the truth, it would heavily contradict claims made by former Black Box Security officer Alex Vlasov, who claimed there were close to 200 hours of audio recordings of the “Toxic” singer in her bedroom, as well as monitored text messages, internet history, and phone calls. Not to mention, it was Jamie who hired Alex to “protect” his daughter.
Britney’s conservatorship nightmare finally came to an end in November when a judge terminated the court-ordered arrangement, which has since led the Mississippi native to distance herself entirely from most — if not all — of her family members, including mother Lynne, sister Jamie Lynne, and brother, Bryan.
The mother-of-two has been highly vocal, saying that her family played a huge part in keeping her under her conservatorship because they didn’t think she was well enough to cope on her own, but they apparently had no issue putting her on grueling touring schedules which saw Britney make tens of millions of dollars in revenue each year.
In February, it was revealed that the blonde beauty had signed a $15 million deal to pen her very own tell-all book, which is slated for a release later this year. The memoir will detail all of the trauma Britney endured during her lengthy conservatorship battle and what exact role each of her family members played in the process.
Britney signed the contract with publishing house Simon & Schuster, which sources say is one of the biggest book deals of all time, behind the Obamas, who made $60 million. Bill Clinton’s memoir, “My Life,” in 2001, had also earned him a cool $15 million.
