BBC noted that Mr. Johnson was tested at the government office No 10 by NHS staff, on the personal advice of England’s chief medical officer, Prof Chris Whitty, Downing Street said. As The Sun reports, his infection means he will need to stay apart from new fiancee Carrie Symonds who is pregnant and at a higher risk.
Johnson’s official spokesman said the prime minister’s fiancée is also self-isolating, although it is not known if they are still living together. However, it was said that he is working from the office with meals and work being left at the door of the flat, Mr. Johnson’s official spokesman added.
According to the latest updates, there are more than 11,600 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK, and 578 people have died.
