#Socialites, come get into this: On the latest episode of Apple Music’s Rap Life Review, Rick Ross sat down to chop it up about the recent VERZUZ madness.

Now, if you were watching, you saw Rozay skip right over Drake’s verse during the set, and of course folks thought he was being petty. But before people could even finish typing their theories, Ross decided to address the viral clip head on.

Looking straight into the camera, Rozay kept it 100: “Drake. If you listening to this homie… I don’t want to see you lose. This culture, this game, this rap shit, this ain’t what it’s about.”

From “Aston Martin Music” to Static
It’s wild how fast things change. For years, Ross and Drake were the ultimate duo. We’re talking “Aston Martin Music,” “Stay Schemin’,” “Money in the Grave,” hits that stayed on repeat in every whip from Miami to Toronto.

They weren’t just collaborators; they were brothers in the game. But that brotherhood hit a wall back in 2024. While things were clearly going on being the scenes, Drizzy was locked in that legendary battle with Kendrick Lamar, Ross decided to jump into the ring himself.

He wasn’t pulling punches either, hitting us with “Champagne Moments” and sparking the whole #BBLDrizzy movement. Ross accused the “6 God” of being disloyal and, the ultimate rap sin, leaning way too hard on ghostwriters to keep his spot at the top.

Are We Seeing an Olive Branch?

The tension has been thick for two years, with Ross basically acting as the primary antagonist in Drake’s “villain arc.” But after this latest interview, the energy feels a little different.

Instead of the petty Instagram stories and the “white boy” comments we’ve seen in the past, Ross is talking about the culture. He’s reminding everyone that at the end of the day, seeing another Black man at the top of his game fall isn’t the goal.

Although this didn’t come with an apology, Drake has yet to react to it all.
