PRAYERS: B2K singer Raz B breaks his silence following the devastating news of him and wife Mona Li suddenly losing their infant son Astro Monte Thornton. The child was just three-months-old.

While taking to his Instagram Story on Sunday (September 13), Raz wrote:
“First, I want to thank everyone for all the love, well wishes, and prayers you’ve sent to my wife, our family, and me. Your kindness means more than words can express. As we prepare to lay our sweet Astro to rest this Monday, many of you have reached out wanting to send flowers. We truly appreciate your love and support.”
Raz went on to share an address to a funeral home in Atlanta, Georgia. As we previously shared, news broke this week about the youngest child of the B2K singer, born De’Mario Thornton. TMZ reported that sources close to the family shared the news of the unexpected passing of the family’s three-month-old son. Sources revealed the child had passed earlier in the week and the cause was unclear.

Autopsy Complete Following Passing Of Raz B’s Infant Son Astro
On Friday (September 11), the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office said it completed an autopsy on Wednesday (September 9), but the cause of death was still pending. The family spokesperson said, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Astro Monte Thornton, beloved son of Mona and De’Mario ‘Raz B’ Thornton of the R&B supergroup B2K. The family asks for privacy as they navigate this difficult time. They truly appreciate your love and support.”
On May 18, Raz first announced the arrival of his second son. He took to his Instagram with a family picture. It included himself, his pregnant wife, their first son Versai Carter Thornton, and Mona’s eldest child, a daughter from a previous relationship. He wrote:
“I always wanted to take a real family picture with my own family… and finally, God made a way 🙏🏾❤️ Right now we’re at the hospital getting ready to welcome our newest addition, Astro 🚀👶🏾 another baby boy to the Thornton family. Big congratulations to my beautiful wife for being so strong through this journey. Watching you become a mother again is one of the greatest blessings I could ever witness. The Thornton family continues to grow… and our legacy does too.”
On May 23, Raz shared another post (posted in collaboration with his son Versai’s IG account), revealing that that week they welcomed baby Astro.
Elsewhere a music industry source close to B2K also revealed that the group still plans to proceed with its tour overseas. B2K is scheduled to host three shows in the United Kingdom, as part of the RnB Winter Ball Tour.
