CJ Harris, the singer who competed in American Idol in 2014, has passed away.
According to TMZ, the musician was rushed to the hospital after an apparent heart attack in Alabama on Sunday. It was said that he was taken to a local hospital by ambulance, but sadly didn’t make it.
Harris was a fan-favorite on the show during his time following his audition for the judges back in 2014 in Salt Lake City. He blew them away with his version of the Allman Brothers Band’s “Soulshine.”

In the clip, Harris explained that he participated in the completion to honor his father. After his performance, judge Kieth Urban said, “You sing because you have to sing, not because you want to sing. And I mean that in the deepest way. And that’s why it’s so believable and real. I just believed it and I felt it.”
CJ Harris was just 31 years old.

The news of Harris comes days after the world received the heartbreaking news about Lisa Marie Presley. As we previously reported, Presley who is the only child of late singer Elvis Presley died last week after suffering an apparent cardiac arrest.
Intially, her heart stopped a second time after she was hospitalized last Thursday but due to her hopeless condition at the time, her family had already ordered doctors not to resuscitate her. Sources told TMZ at the time that Lisa Marie had been pronounced brain dead after she was admitted to the hospital. Doctors put her in an induced coma and on life support.
As fans were hoping she would pull through, the songwriter didn’t, and sadly died. She was 54.
“Priscilla Presley and the Presley family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Lisa Marie,” said a statement from the family provided to CNN.
Aside from this, Khloe Kardashian’s ex boyfriend and NBA star Tristan Thompson’s mother Andrea also died following a heart attack last week. Sources told the news site that she went into cardiac arrest and could not be resuscitated. Her death was “unexpected.”
Following her sudden passing, mommager Kris Jenner posted a tribute on Instagram where she shared multiple shots from Kardashian’s baby shower when she was pregnant with True, as well as birthday celebrations.
“I am so heartbroken by the sudden passing of Tristan’s mom, Andrea. My thoughts, prayers and all of my love are with Tristan, Amari, Dishawn and Daniel,” she captioned her post. “You were the most amazing, dedicated, devoted, and selfless mom and such a loving, kind, and fabulous grandmother. What a blessing you were to your family!!! I will miss you Andrea. I will miss your bright spirit and amazing light. Thank you for always praying for us and lifting us up and encouraging us along the way. Rest in peace beautiful angel🙏❤️.”
