Looks like Vybz Kartel is ending this year off strong! The Jamaican dancehall superstar popped the question to his longtime girlfriend Sidem Öztürk this week.
He shared a video on his official social media accounts where he is seen asking for her hand in marriage just months after his prison release. In a sweet message, he promised to never leave her side.

I cherish all the times you came to visit me and told me that it’s going to be ok. I cherish all the times we spoke on the phone and in real life in the box. The soon-to-be husband and wife met back in 2015 while Kartel was serving time following a murder conviction. Vybz Kartel was initially sentenced to life in prison in 2014 for the 2011 murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams, but his conviction was overturned back in July after serving 13 years.
Since his release, the two have launched their own YouTube channel, Kiss Me Baby, where they share their daily life as the artist returns to normal life with his partner by his side.
