George Floyd’s Niece Identified As Houston 4-Year-Old Wounded During New Year’s Day Shooting

Houston authorities announced details of a shooting on New Year’s Day that injured a 4-year-old girl. News outlets learned on Tuesday that the victim is George Floyd’s niece.

The shooting took place around 2:55 a.m. Saturday, when at least one person shot numerous bullets into an apartment on Yellowstone Boulevard in Houston, police announced. Four adults and two kids were inside the apartment and Floyd’s niece was struck in the torso. 

No arrests have been made nor suspects identified in the shooting, according to KTRK.

George Floyd’s niece, was transported by a private vehicle and according to reports she is in stable condition as of Tuesday, Jan. 4. Police do not have a description of the suspect or a motive at this time.

Family members spoke to new outlets and said the young girl whose name is Arianna was shot in her sleep. According to her father she suffered, “a punctured lung and liver and three broken ribs.”
