Meek Mill & Lil Baby Under Fire Over Tone-Deaf Kobe Bryant Lyric In New Song

Meek Mill and Lil Baby are under fire and trending on social media after a snippet of their new song surfaced, which features a tone-deaf lyric about Kobe Bryant and his tragic death.

While the song, entitled “Don’t Worry (RIP Kobe),” at first glance looks like a tribute to the late and great NBA legend, in less than 10 seconds of the surfaced clip, Kobe is mentioned — and not in a honorary way.

The clip starts with Meek rapping about jealous friends and enemies and women who don’t really love him, then immediately pivots to a Kobe mention. He raps, “Yeah, and if I ever lack, I’m goin’ out with my chopper, it be another Kobe / Sh*t, I could tell that they ain’t never know me.” Meanwhile, Baby, in the second verse, name drops Kobe, rapping, “I made a promise before God, that want’ll never hold me / I damn near wanna have a son, so I can name him Kobe / Daughter Gigi, I done beat them odds, I wish lil’ one could see me.” #Socialites, thoughts?
