Mel B Demands More Child Support From Eddie Murphy After Income Is ‘Dramatically Reduced’
According to UsWeekly, Melanie “Mel B” Brown is demanding more child support from Eddie Murphy, 59, as she files new court documents claiming her income was “dramatically reduced.”
The 45-year-old Spice Girl is ready to revisit her agreement with Murphy, who was ordered to $25,000 a month, as her financial stability changes while raising the former couple’s 13-year-old daughter, Angel Iris Murphy Brown. Per the site, docs say Brown asks Murphy to fork over his income and expense accounting so to file a request to modify terms. In addition to raising payments, Brown asks that Murphy pays for the fees of her attorneys Erica Lubans and Bruce Cooperman.

Lubans and Cooperman say the British singer and TV personality’s income has “dramatically reduced.” They explain, “Until recently, Melanie has been fortunate in her career to sustain a comfortable lifestyle for herself and Angel. Unfortunately, Melanie’s income has dramatically reduced, such that she must consider modifying child support for the first time.” They add that they’ve made “numerous efforts resolve the case without court intervention,” but “without any success, [so] Melanie was left with no choice but to file.”
