3 Neighbors Dead In Pennsylvania After Argument Over Snow Shoveling
Just before 9 a.m. on Monday (Feb. 1), Plains Township police officers in Pennsylvania responded to a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, they found three neighbors dead after an argument over snow shoveling.
Among those dead were 50-year-old James Goy and his 48-year-old wife Lisa Goy, who was lying in the middle of the street in front of her home. A third person, 47-year-old Jeffrey Spaide was found deceased inside his home from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Witnesses say Spaide and the Goys were engaged in a long-running feud and escalated to his boiling point on what had been the snowiest day of the year.
Authorities say the argument that day began after the Goys shoveled snow from their parking spots, dumping it across the road onto Spaide’s property. Witnesses say Spaide asked the couple to cease, which then led to the heated exchange. It’s reported that Mr. Goy threw a tool he used to shove his car at Spaide and followed it with a raised fist, which caused Spaide to retreat to his home and return with a loaded firearm. As the couple continues to yell and use expletives, with Mr. Goy making threats, Spaide begins walking towards the couple, firing shots at each, multiple times. It’s reported Spaide went back into his to grab another gun, which he reportedly used to shoot them again, and later himself.
