12-Year-Old Rapper Lil Rodney Sentenced To 7 Years For Shooting 1-Year-Old

A Texas judge has sentenced 12-year-old rapper Lil Rodney to 7 years in a juvenile detention center for shooting a 1-year-old baby. At age 11, the young rapper, who represents the Crip gang, cut off his ankle monitor, which he was forced to wear after being hit with an arson charge, and shot a toddler, who survived.

During his hearing, Rodney claims he’d cut off his monitor to attend a friend’s funeral; however, he couldn’t recall the friend’s name. It’s noted that after shooting the toddler, Rodney, who also goes by “30 Shotz” took to social media to pose with a gun. In a video of a Zoom detention hearing, which was held in September 2020 a day after Rodney’s 12th birthday, and is now being released, Rodney begs, “I just want to know if you can at least give me one more chance then see. If this time I mess up you should like hold me for some months.”

The judge replies, “Yea, but didn’t you say that last time? You told me to hold you for a year last time if you mess up.” The judge continues by calling out Rodney for continuously begging and crying during his hearings, hoping for light consequences, and turning right back around to keep cutting off his monitor and violating the judge’s orders. Now, Rodney will be released at age 19. #Socialites, thoughts on this sentence?
