Yung Miami is offering more insight on her relationship with Tyla and where they stand after accusing the South African singer of stealing her “Chanel” song concept.
As we previously shared, things began in April 2025 when the Miami rapper, born Caresha Brownlee, first teased her song “Take Me To Chanel.” The song’s chorus repeatedly says, “Take me to Chanel.”
By October 2025, Tyla had previewed her own version, entitled, “Chanel.” On her chorus, she repeatedly says “Put me in Chanel.” While the beats of the two songs were indeed different, the concepts were very similar. This left Miami believing Tyla ran off with her song and took it as inspiration for her own. Miami fired off on X:
“This girl really ran off with my song and ion know how to feel about it. Mind you I played this song for this girl.”
Fast forward to early August 2026 when Tyla set the record straight on the song-stealing claims. On Quenlin Blackwell’s podcast, ‘Feeding Starving Celebrities,’ Tyla admitted Miami played “Take Me To Chanel” for her (and others). However, Tyla claimed months after the listening session, songwriter Bibi Bourelly hit her up about a song that would later become Tyla’s “Chanel.”
When Tyla accepted the song, she said she wasn’t thinking about Miami and hers. She claimed it had been many months since she heard Miami’s record and that she really liked the song presented to her by Bourelly. Tyla continued to put the rumors to rest, confirming she loves Miami. She even called her a “cool” girl, before singing acapella and dancing to Caresha’s latest viral song, “Spend Dat.”
About two weeks later, Yung Miami now reveals where she stands with Tyla since calling her out. In an interview with Complex, Miami told host Jordan Rose:
“No. We haven’t had a chance to [talk]. I never spoke to her after that. Like, we never spoke, at all. The situation was what the situation was. That’s just what it was. I moved on.”
When told that Tyla likes her new song “Spend Dat,” Miami quipped, “Oh, I’m sure she does.” After the host bursted out in laughter at the sly comment, Miami added a disclaimer. She clarified:
“I’m not even saying in a shady way. I’m saying, like, she did a TikTok to “Tea Time.” I mean, she’s been very supportive.
