On Thursday (July 27), Thug’s attorney, Brian Steel, filed a motion to have evidence of a goat sacrifice ritual removed from the proceedings. According to documents obtained by WSB-TV’s Michael Seiden, the defense wants to keep the jury from seeing a video of the March 17, 2022 arrest of Shannon Stillwell.

It is reported that Stillwell, who goes by “SB” and is a co-defendant in the YSL gang trial, was arrested on a murder charge out of East Point, Georgia. At the time Stillwell was being taken into police custody, officials say there was a religious ceremony going on involving the alleged sacrifice of goats.

In the motion filed by Steel, he asserted that he sees no lawful, admissible, proper purpose to highlight Stillwell’s religious service and beliefs into the Young Thug YSL trial. Therefore, he is asking that the courts remove the irrelevant-deemed information.

Steel and the rest of the defense team argue that the video will only prejudice the jurors against Stillwell and Young Thug, born Jeffery Williams. Currently, Young Thug and his legal team are seeking an immediate hearing with Fulton County Judge Ural Glanville to discuss the new motion. However, at this time a date still has not yet been set or publicized for when a hearing will be held.

Meanwhile, it is unclear if Stillwell, or anyone in the YSL RICO case, practices voodoo or any form of witchcraft. Meanwhile, according to WSB-TV’s Michael Seiden, he claimed in a tweet that during these annual rituals, “worshippers wear all-white and sacrifice goats in an effort to bring forth loa, which help to run the universe and can grant blessings.”

As we’ve previously reported, Young Thug and his co-defendant are just two people of more than a dozen charged in a sweeping indictment, involving alleged members of the Young Slime Life gang. Currently, there are eight defendants on trial, with the remaining facing separate trials. Since January 2023, the trial with the eight defendants has been in the jury selection process.
