After news of the sudden passing of President Trump’s youngest brother Robert broke out, social media didn’t waste any time expressing their feelings with the hashtag #WrongTrump.

Last night, Robert Trump passed away at a New York City hospital a day after his hospitalization. After several media outlets reported his death, thousands of Twitter users used the hashtag #WrongTrump and claimed the wrong brother died due to President Trump’s questionable actions throughout his term. Days before his brother’s death, a reporter questioned Trump about the high numbers of coronavirus deaths and he said in response “It is what it is.” The quote was also posted under his press secretary’s tweet after releasing his statement.
#wrongtrump is trending because many people wish it was Donald, not his brother Robert, who died. Some find that to be in bad taste. But Trump is killing a thousand people a day. Is it wrong to want it to stop?

Conservatives: This #wrongtrump hashtag is offensive and disgusting
Also conservatives: let grandma die for capitalism, so what if children die in school shootings, deport Muslims, slave labor is good, beat protestors, lock up black people, and put Mexican children in cages!

Do you think Trump would care if you lost yours? Please, “it is what it is” “ causality of an invisible enemy” “causality of war”— “people are just old, they had to die some day, right” sorry not feeling sorry for Trump https://t.co/G2Yg9gQhJR

However, Trump supporters have blamed Twitter and Democrats for allowing the hashtag to trend and claimed if a conservative used the hashtag #WrongBiden, the social media site would’ve removed it instantly.
Remember all the conservatives wishing death to Obama and his family for eight years?
No, you don’t. Because it never happened.
This #WrongTrump hashtag is patently disgusting.

I can’t believe Twitter is allowing #wrongtrump to trend in response to Robert Trump’s passing.
This is one of their most egregious acts yet.

Wishing death or harm to someone is against Twitter TOS… unless of course you’re a leftist tweeting #wrongtrump and wishing for the President’s death… in that case Twitter let’s it trend for more than 12 hours.

Despite the hashtag, presidential candidate Joe Biden sent his condolences to President Trump and his family although conservatives asked if he could ask Twitter to take it down.
Mr. President, Jill and I are sad to learn of your younger brother Robert’s passing. I know the tremendous pain of losing a loved one — and I know how important family is in moments like these. I hope you know that our prayers are with you all.
